What’s Included in the Dandelion Paper and Pencil Game Free Printable
This free printable includes two pages. The first page explains how to play, shows what happens during one round, and includes a sample finished game so new players can see how the flowers, seeds, and wind directions work.
The second page is the game board. It includes a 5 by 5 grid, spaces for the Dandelions and Wind players’ names, and all eight wind directions that players cross off as they are used.
How to Play the Dandelion Paper and Pencil Game
One player is Dandelions and the other player is Wind. Dandelions begins by drawing a flower in any square. Wind chooses one of the eight compass directions, crosses that direction off, and adds a seed dot to every vacant square downwind from each flower.
Players repeat this process for seven rounds, adding one new flower and choosing a new wind direction each round. Dandelions wins if flowers and seeds cover all 25 squares after seven rounds. Wind wins if at least one square remains empty.
