Right now, we are all practicing social distancing and the kids are home missing their friends. No play dates, no recess time, no extra curricular activities – it is hard for them. Here are a 5 classic games for kids to survive social distancing with your friends when you can not get together. And I am not talking about traditional video gaming that you can join in and play together. I am talking about good old fashioned fun. Of course it goes without saying, that children should ask permission from their parents to video chat with friends.

Fortune Telling MASH Game
Do you know how to play MASH? This is a game from the 80’s or maybe even earlier that kids have been playing for years! It is a fun, quick activity to predict your future with 100% accuracy (haha! not exactly but it is fun to test it out).
You can print out a FREE MASH game board at the end of the post here or draw it yourself on paper. Follow the steps here to learn how to play MASH.
Virtual Hide and Go Seek
Give your friend a video call on Facetime or another platform. Decide who will hide first. Hang up the video call and the person who is it, counts to 50. The other person hides somewhere in their house. The player who is it, video calls the friend. They have to guess what room in the house they are hiding in. The person who is hiding can give clues. My kids just played this for an hour running and hiding all over the house.
