HOW TO ACCESS THE UNITED STATES MEMORY GAME PRINTABLE

1. Enter your email at the bottom of the post in the sign up box where you see the memory game.
2. Download the PDF.
3. Print two copies on cardstock paper. This will prevent you from seeing through the cards. Another option is to print on regular paper and glue the cards onto lightweight cardboard and then cut them out.

Another option is to laminate the memory game.

HOW TO PLAY THE MEMORY GAME

This is a classic game that you can play with specially themed cards like these or playing cards. Another idea is to play the memory game with a twist and real objects. Kids love this version! The best thing about a memory matching game is that people of all ages love to play – preschoolers, kindergarteners, elementary school students, middle school, high school and even adults!

1. Cut apart the memory cards. You can use a one inch circle punch.
2. Place the printable set of cards face down, and mix them all up.
3. Turn over two cards. If they match exactly, keep the cards. If they do not match, turn them back over.
4. Continue taking turns until you find all the matches.

WHAT SKILLS ARE KIDS WORKING ON WITH THIS PRINTABLE GAME?

This is the great thing about this simple game. It works on so many skills such as:

• memorization skills

• fine motor skills
• visual discrimination skills – the ability to determine differences between different pictures.

• hide one set of United States matching circle cards around the house. How quickly can you find all the cards?
• Play a game of Guess What – each player circles one state and the other person has to ask Yes or No questions to solve what state was circled.
• Play Who Did It – Cover each state item up with a small object ie raisin, mini marshmallow, bingo chips, ball of small clay etc. One person leaves the room. The other person picks one state card to be IT. When the player returns to the room, they remove one object off the United Stats memory cards at a time. How quickly can they guess who did it?
• Use the black and white version as a coloring page.
